Meeting of the Albanian-American Writers Association: A Tradition that Keeps the Albanian Word Alive

As part of the Month of Albanian Books and Art, the Albanian-American Writers Association (SHSHA) organized the event “The Gathering of Writers” at “GR Art Gallery” in Stamford, Connecticut, bringing together authors, poets, and artists from the Albanian-American community. The event was opened by Dr. Yllka Filipi, Chair of SHSHA, who emphasized the importance of the written word in preserving national identity. Meanwhile, SHSHA President Adnan Mehmeti described this gathering as a promise to continue writing and reading, viewing culture as a unifying force among Albanians in the diaspora. A special part of the event was the exhibition of Shkodra-born painter George Pali — a tribute to Albanian art and tradition. Producer Aurel Naqi described the event as “a celebration of words and colors,” where literature and painting intertwined in harmony. “The Gathering of Writers” became a moment of reflection and unity for the community, conveying the message that the Albanian language remains the bridge that connects generations and preserves the national spirit.
